Who we are
SnapTab is a shared expense and group management platform operated from Ontario, Canada. We build lightweight tools that help recurring groups — teammates, housemates, travel companions, friends — keep track of who paid for what without the spreadsheet headache.

Information we collect
We try to keep this list short. Depending on how you use SnapTab, we may collect:
- Name or nickname
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Receipts and images you upload
- Expense and payment details entered into your spaces
- Basic usage and device information
- Authentication and login activity
You can take part in a SnapTab space without sharing more than the bare minimum — a first name and the totals you owe or are owed are usually enough.
How SnapTab uses your information
We use the data above to run the service you came here for. Specifically:
- Operate your shared spaces
- Calculate balances and suggested repayments
- Process receipt scans
- Improve features, performance, and reliability
- Send login links and service-related notifications
- Prevent abuse, spam, and fraud
We don't sell your personal information. Full stop.
Receipt scanning & AI features
When you upload a receipt or schedule photo, SnapTab may run it through AI tools to extract totals, taxes, tips, line items, and other details that help organize the expense. This is what powers the “snap a photo and it fills itself in” experience.
Please avoid uploading sensitive personal documents that aren't relevant to an expense (IDs, medical records, financial statements, and so on). SnapTab is built for receipts and schedules, not document storage.
Payments & billing
Any payments or one-off purchases on SnapTab are securely processed by Stripe. SnapTab does not see or store full card numbers — Stripe handles that side of things, and we only keep the receipt of what you bought.
Shared spaces & visibility
Anything you add to a shared space — names, expenses, receipts, scores, notes — may be visible to the other members of that space. That's the whole point of a shared space.
You're responsible for who you invite into your spaces. Treat the share link like a key: only hand it to people you actually want in the group.
Cookies & local storage
SnapTab uses cookies and a little local browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure your session, and improve performance. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
Data retention
We hold on to your data while your account and spaces are active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, drop us a line at support@snaptab.ca and we'll take care of it.
Security
We take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data — encrypted connections, private file storage, and limited internal access. That said, no online platform can guarantee absolute security, and we'd be lying if we said otherwise.
Changes to this policy
SnapTab is still growing, and as we add new features this policy may evolve. When we make a meaningful change we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
